IMG 9184"I arrived home from Uganda filled with homesickness and anticipation. There is a huge difference between my country and my home. But maybe not so great?!

I was welcomed to the office of my colleague Gyorgyi Szabo coordinator of children support at the African-Hungarian Union.

When I stepped in I was speechless, because I could hardly get in due to all the donations for the St. Kizito Uganda children's home taking up most of the office. With hard work they gathered a lot of dry food, diapers, a small bike, hygiene products, toys, small clothes. Personalized gifts also arrived for the little guys. The supporting parents of Agnes Nambuya living in Hungary are sending her a pink rabbit to the girl through me. I'm sure she'll love it, and it will fit right in with all the other girly presents.IMG 9252

But the donations reach every child, regardless of age and gender. They'll have a hard time deciding which toy to pick. I look forward to the bustle, which will be waiting in the orphanage located in the outskirts of Mbale! I have never experienced such great desire to help as with the Ugandan orphans' 'adopters'!

I am grateful that I'll soon be able to get to know the supporting parents in a SPECIAL PARENTS MEETING. I can share my personal experience in Uganda with them, tell them about the orphanage, "our Ugandan children" and the total lack of a social safety net.

There are plenty of sad and unsolvable problems in the world, but with so many helpful and well-intentioned people in the world, especially in Hungary, there is always hope for a better life! "
