Afrika méltó helyre emelése valamint Magyarország és a fekete kontinens kapcsolatainak erősítése közös cél - ennek jegyében rendezte meg az Angolai Nagykövet vezette Afrikai Nagykövetségek Tanácsa, az afrikai konzulátusok és - többek között - az Afrikai-Magyar Egyesülettel közösen az immár hagyományos Africa Dayt. A Szépművészeti Múzeumban megtartott nagyszabású rendezvényen diplomáciai képviseletek, cégek és civil szervezetek vettek részt. Az ünnepségen tiszteletét tette Németh Zsolt külügyi államtitkár is, aki beszédében méltatta Magyarország és Afrika kapcsolatait, kiemelte az Africa Summit VI. konferencia jelentőségét valamint Afrika jövőbeni gazdasági és kulturális fontosságáról beszélt (lásd videó). A nagyszabású rendezvényen az afrikai zenekarok, együttesek fellépése után a részvevők megismerkedhettek az afrikai konyhaművészet remekeivel is. Az Afrikai Egységszervezet az 1963. május 22. és 25. között az etiópiai Addisz Abebában tartott alakuló csúcsértekezletén eldöntötte, hogy minden évben május 25-én megünneplik Afrika nemzetközi napját. Akkor az Afrikai Egységszervezet - amelynek jogutódja a 2002-ben megalakult Afrikai Unió - a gyarmatosítás lezárásának szószólója és "Afrika hangja" volt a nemzetközi közösségben. A szervezet alapelve az egyenjogúság és a be nem avatkozás politikája volt.

L'augmentation remarquable de la dignité Africaine ainsi que le renforcement des relations déja existante entre la Hongrie et l'Afrique devient un objectif et un intéret  commun pour nous tous. C'est dans cet esprit qu'avait  été organisé la traditionnelle Journée de l'Afrique au Musée Hongrois des Beaux-arts par l'ambassade de l'Angola avec le concoure du Conseil des ambassades africaines, les consulats Africains et d'autres ONG tel que l'Union Afrique Hongrie avec  la participation des missions diplomatiques, des milieux d'affaires et des organisations de la société civile. La cérémonie avait été honorée par la présence de M. Zsolt Németh secrétaire d'État aux Affaires étrangeres, qui, dans son discours, avait fait l'éloge des relations entre Hongrie et l'Afrique tout en faisant état de l'Africa Summit VI. organisé a Budapest ainsi que l'importance de l'avenir économique et culturel du continent Africain. Au cours de cet événement de grande envergure animé par une bande musical Africaine, les invités  et les participants avaient eu l'occasion de savourer les mets issus de la cuisine africaine. C'est au sommet inaugural de l'Organisation de l'unité africaine tenu en Ethiopie a Addis-Abeba du 22 mai au 25 Mai 1963 que fut décidé la célébration de la journée internationale pour l'Afrique chaque 25 du mois de Mai. L'Union Africaine a succédée a l'Organisation de l'unité africaine en 2002 pour faire valoir la au niveau internationale. Les principes de l'Organisation sont axés sur l'égalité et la politique de non régence.

The remarkable increase of African dignity and the strengthening of existing relations between Hungary and Africa become a goal and a common interest to us all. It is in this spirit that had been organized the traditional Africa Day at the Hungarian Museum of Fine Arts by the Council of African embassies headed by the Embassy of Angola, with the assistance of consulates and other African NGOs such as the African Hungarian Union. Diplomatic missions, business and civil society organizations participated in this event..
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr Zsolt Németh Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, who in his speech, had praised the relations between Hungary and Africa, while noting the Africa Summit VI. held in Budapest and the importance of economic and cultural future of the African continent (See video). During this major event hosted by African music band, guests and participants had the opportunity to enjoy the dishes from the African cuisine.
This is the inaugural summit of the Organization of African Unity held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from May 22 to May 25, 1963 when it was decided that the celebration of International Day for Africa should take place every 25th of May. The African Union has taken over to membership of African Unity in 2002 to promote the 'voice of Africa' at the international level. The principles of the Organization are based on equality and policy of non regency.
